Kids Play One Early Morning

My kids are usually late risers. But last Saturday, they woke up early to attend a family friend's wedding in Los Banos, Laguna. We managed to get them dressed and ready for the day's event. Although still sleepy at first, the boys were all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed while waiting for the rented jeep that will bring us there with the rest of the family. I took some photos of them while waiting and decided that these will be the subjects of our February calendar.

Basti's Field Trip Part 2 :Quezon Memorial Circle

It was my second time at Quezon Memorial Circle. The first time was in the year 2000 when I attended and single-handedly manned our Japanese trade group's booth for two days. So it was a bittersweet moment for me when the bus arrived at the entrance of the Circle. But it was not what I remembered it to be. The QC Circle has changed so much in the span of 11 years. For the better, I guess.

A Mother's Early Morning Worry

I slept at 5:30 in the morning and woke up abruptly, three hours after, still sleepy but needing to get up because Basti had to go to school. He was going to be late. He hurriedly had breakfast, took a bath and dressed for school. I was so sleepy but I couldn't sleep yet because I needed to wait for the trusted sidecar boy who takes him  to school and brings him back home everyday.

Making friends with Mr. Up

Here's a snapshot of  Simon with his new friend, Mr. Up. Mr. Up was a balloon that his father brought home from a party. Mr. Up eased some of Simon's boredom when he was all alone with his chicken pox. One day, Simon said, "Mama, tingin mo!" (Mama, look!}And I saw Mr. Up with sunglasses on! Couldn't help but laugh. And take a cam shot. :D

Happiness Is Sam

There are so many things that makes me happy. But like other moms, nothing makes me more happy than my kids. For this week, here's my entry on what happiness is.

One afternoon of fun with my little boy.
I'm camera shy so this is definitely one shining mommy moment for me.

Little Boy Blue

This little boy was feeling blue. He knew he couldn't go out of the house. He did not have his kuya Sam to play with. He was all alone at the house and no one to keep him entertained. His momma was boring him to tears already. He had watched Toy Story 1, 2 and 3  a hundred times. So he just contented himself watching the neighbor's kids play, from the gate of our house.

Basti's Field Trip 1: Pasig Rainforest Park

One early morning in December, Basti and I boarded a bus for a one-day field trip to different destinations in Metro Manila. It was still dark when we left the meeting area.

Our first destination was supposed to be PHILVOCS, but for some reason, that got cancelled and so we were told that we'll be at The Rainforest instead. It was our first time there and we did not know what to expect. The Rainforest Park is located in Maybunga, Pasig.

Kids in Doodles: My Little DJ

In January of  2011, my brother gave me a headset, sort of a post-Christmas gift. I love that headset though it has malfunctioned already due to too much use (I guess). I have been careless also that I let the kids use it when they play their games and when they watch videos. And they mishandle it sometimes.

My brother gave the same brand of headset yesterday.  I was so happy and even the kids are happy to see it. Well, I won't allow them to use this one anymore. And to show his enthusiasm about the said headset, Simon insisted on trying it on. We let him, just this last time. He's a perfect model, despite the chicken pox dotted face.
I call him my Little DJ. Like his kuya Sam, I'm so proud of him that even with the chicken pox, he still remains to be the active and happy child that he is. There were some tantrums but that's reasonable for a sick child like him. He wouldn't let go of the headset anymore. But we managed to distract his attention and take it off from him.

This is our share for today's Kids In Doodles.

Chicken Pox Peppered Christmas

First of all, I'd like to greet everyone a Happy New Year! I hope you had a great New Year's Eve celebration.

My last post was on December 23rd and so forgive me if I have to share our Christmas stories just now. Christmas and New Year came and just flew by for us. Sadly, my boys did not enjoy Christmas Day to the fullest. They did not go anywhere, because Sam and I had chicken pox a few days before Christmas and I had fever for a few days. Basti had to stay with the in-laws for the whole of the Christmas holiday to avoid getting infected with the virus. So it's just the two younger ones, Sam and Simon, who spent Christmas with us.

A few days before symptoms of chicken pox set in, Sam was able to attend his first ever Christmas party.

I'm so happy to see Sam enjoying so much in his first Christmas party without throwing any tantrums. Last year, he left early crying because he wanted to go home. He doesn't really like crowded places that much.
