Love The Healthy Life event on August 22

Moms Today and Health Today will be holding again another family event on August 22 at the Megatrade Hall. This is one event that should not be missed especially by moms and dads. The last time I attended in May I really really had a great time (participating in many booth activities), gained a lot of knowlege too (with the parenting talks in the afternoon), and brought home a lot of freebies too! I'll surely be there on Saturday, even if I have to go alone. (Hubby I think will be attending the free PTTC seminar on Saturday!). I have "recruited" (haha) my friends to go too but some of them will not be able to attend the series of talk in afternoon. Still, this would be a great bonding opportunity with my mommy friends.

Just click on the poster for a better view!

It's best to bring friends along to share the experience. It's sad to be enjoying something good and not be able to share it with anyone you know. I'd be there early since I'll be coming from work and will stay for the parenting talks.

For details of the Love The Healthy Life, please dial the number on the poster.

So everyone, see you there!

Happy Birthday, Simon Rex!

Simon turned 1 last week! How time flies!

We had a small but very intimate get-together at the house where only family members on both sides were invited. It was a very quiet (with the shrieks of the kids in the background, how can it be quiet? hehe) but a very happy affair. It' good to see the kids running around the house with their cousins and together with their lolas and lolos. The birthday boy was asleep when the guests came in. He woke up with the sound of his uncle's, cousins', and aunties' voices as they huddled over him. I was thankful that we did not have a big party as we had with Sam and Basti because I was able to enjoy the day without any stress or hassle. I would say we spent good quality time with the whole family.

MomCenter Photo Blog Winners

I opened my inbox last week and I found wonderful news from We won the Photoblog Contest for the month of July! What a great birthday gift for Simon!

edited version of the email using picnik

Momcenter has a photoblogging service where mommies can upload pictures of their babies daily to share with loved ones online. Mommies can also put in events such as birthdays and baby's many "firsts" captured on camera. This service of momcenter is the one that I love the most because I get to keep a record of my 3 boys daily activities.

Thanks, momcenter!

Thanks Goldilocks and Nuffnang!

Last Friday, August 7th, my husband and I went to the Goldilocks You're the 1 Awarding Ceremony. I was excited to go and was a little bit nervous and apprehensive as well. It was my first blogging event and for the first time I was about to see bloggers in the flesh, (hahaha) up close and personal. I know most of them know each other already and I was scared to be left out. And also, I've never been to Bonifacio High Street. I had only been in Bonifacio Global City once when I organized a Japanese IT mission back in 1999 and Bonifacio Global City was still in its very early stage of development, where I only got to see the blueprint and the model of the city.

I took my husband with me for morale support as I threaded into the unknown. It was unexpectedly easy to get to Bonifacio High Street from our place. We were there just in time, a little early, in fact. At first I was nervous, but everyone was so nice and accommodating, especially the Nuffnang and Goldilocks staff, that I felt at home in no time. Of course, it helped that my husband was with me.

As we waited for the program to start, we were given a Goldilocks bag of goodies (with bags of mamon and Summit Media Magazines). The real treat came when we were given cakes to decorate for the Decorate your own cake contest. Oh what bliss! I just wished that Basti was with us at that time. He would have totally enjoyed decorating his own cake. Hubby enjoyed his Decorate your own cake experience tremendously!

I really had a good time that night.

We were treated to a Goldilocks dinner buffet! We had our pictures taken too! And I had my first glimpse of Dingdong Dantes and Judah Paolo. And the to top it all, I finally met, in person, one blogger I've been following for so long, Ms. Noemi Lardizabal-Dado, who happens to be the grand prize winner.

I did not win anything, not even a consolation prize. I was hoping, but not expecting, that I'll get to take home something (hahaha) . (Of course, everyone hopes to win!). But I've been reading most of the entries and they were really good. Kudos to all the winners!

But as my hubby said, the cakes themselves, the good time and the experience itself are prizes enough. We really had a good time, and also I get to spend quality time with hubby. Having been there, he kinda understood more the blogger side of me, because he got to see other people who are like me.

We brought home the cakes. The kids were still awake when we got home and were ecstatic over their cakes. They added more decors on the cake and afterwards we had our midnight snacks.

Thank you Nuffnang and Goldilocks for a truly wonderful experience!

Simon learns to walk

On late afternoons, my mother and Simon stroll around the neighborhood. My mother, Nandy to his grandkids, is teaching Simon to walk on his own. This collage shows the first few pics of Simon on his brand new sandals. He can't seem to get his eyes off his new sandals.

I used Picknik on these pictures. It was on my Yahoo! mail and I fell inlove with it. There are still so many things I have to learn about it. I'm excited to edit more pictures using Picknik.
